Summer Learning Journey - Day 1 (Practise)

Hi guys this is what the New Zealand Flag should look like now. The Red Represent the Blood of the soldiers that represented us at war. The white represents the colour of an angel when it shines bright. The Light blue represents the blue ocean splashing around in the sea. The Golden crown represents the queen wearing it.

  1. Kia ora Folauhola,

This is excellent. I really like how you have thought outside the box and represented the ancestors who have fought for New Zealand. Have you thought about how we could represent the native people of New Zealand, the Maori?

I am excited to see more of your posts while adventuring on the Summer Learning Journey.

    Have a lovely day,
Megan from the Summer Learning Journey

  2. Faka lofa lahi atu Hola,
my name is Cia. I am a Summer Learning Journey blogger who will be working with you over the summer break.

What an interesting flag design, I like how you included the soldiers who fought for our country in your flag design; very thoughtful and a nice homage to them. I am curious about what inspired you idea about including white for angels, it’s quite interesting.

Maybe next time you could include a symbol or colour to represent our Tangata Whenua as they are very important to our history as a bicultural country and our kiwi identity. What would you add to your design to represent Māori and what colour would you use?

Great start to the Summer Learning Journey Hola, I am anticipating your future blog posts over the summer holidays.

Toe feiloa’i fo’i ('See you again' in Samoan),

    Cia.
